This gorge, with its remarkable geology, is very busy (inadvisable in high season) although some important in situ gear takes away a little from its wild feel, the Marc gorge is still interesting for an introduction to the activity.

Technical informations :
This rather watery descent is a good sum up of all the elements of canyoning. After a short lesson in abseiling (a way of going down a rope), the descent is made through a series of different obstacles : jumps of up to 8m (optional, can be avoided if you wish), 2 abseils (one of 17m) swimming, little slides...

Meeting place :
At the Fish Farm (La Courbiere). Take the roundabout on arrival at Tarascon from the direction of Foix (at the end of Foix-Tarascon dual carriageway). Take the exit to Surba and then the first turning on the right, 200m from the roundabout.
